FOREWORD
First and foremost, welcome to Exodus Roleplay Forum. We hope you enjoy playing on our community, and find yourself immersed in the world we have built for you all to play in. These rules and guides are essential reading - all members should be familiar with it before and after applying, and should reference it regularly (since we don't expect you to know them by heart). We do, however, expect members to exercise common sense. Intentional rulebreaks will be handled strictly and swiftly, and we will not allow players to escape on a 'technicality' - if we think you deserve punishment, you will get it.
Please bear in mind that Exodus is a PG-13+ roleplay and may contain strong imagery of violence, gore, sexual references, substance abuse, and adult themes. The onus is on you to protect yourself here. If you feel like this may be a problem, we advise you not to join the roleplay. If you still do choose to join, it is entirely your responsibility to be aware of and avoid the content.
Exodus considers itself to be a 3,2,2 in terms of RPG Rating. This means:
- Swearing and mature language is permitted; though keep it toned down OOC, and absolutely no racist, homophobic or otherwise derogatory terms in OOC.
- Sexual content is permitted, but must be fade-to-black. Sex is part of every day life, but nobody should have to read it. All explicit sexual content must be implied or made in reasonable reference.
- Explicit violence is permitted; though keep things such as torture toned down (graphic descriptions are okay, but use some common sense here - write only as much as is necessary, not to indulge). If someone at any point requests an F2B, you will comply. Absolutely no sexual violence - this may be implied, but never roleplayed or heavily referred to.
Please note that Exodus does not enforce trigger warnings. Players are free to add them as they please,
but they are not a pre-requisite with the exception of graphic descriptions of NSFW content (particularly violence). Do not join or engage in this RPG if this is something that is a problem for you.

GENERAL & OOC RULES
conducting yourself around the site - expectations and courtesy
- Doxxing is strictly against the rules, and will result in an immediate permaban.
- Discrimination of any kind will get you immediately banned. Exodus welcomes people of all paths of life, religions, ethnicities and sexualities.
- Exploiting any coding, particularly disabling JavaScript, in order to access hidden content is forbidden.
- Do not impersonate other members, staff or otherwise.
- Treat all members with respect. Flaming/flamebaiting is forbidden. Disagreements and discussions should take place in PMs wherever possible, and should be reasonable.
- Do not post in any essential reading threads unless otherwise stated. Inform a moderator+ if you find a thread you think should be locked.
- Wait for acceptance before posting in any IC areas.
- When initiating combat, ask the other participants OOC permission in the shoutbox, or via PM first.
- Do not publicly advertise other roleplays anywhere but the advertising section without explicit permission from Head Staff. Affiliates may mention their sites, but be reasonable.
- Abide by the Proboards TOS. Do not post or promote anything inappropriate, NSFW, or otherwise forbidden.
- Do not steal any art or content that is not yours. Always follow the rules of the creator and leave credits intact.
- You may have an OOC account, but this is not compulsory. Make sure you inform admins of the account so you can have the OOC group assigned.

IC RULES
in-character guides, roleplay rules and systems
- Standard rules - godmodding and powerplaying is forbidden. Your character is not invincible, all-powerful, or superior, even with a higher rank. You are always exploitable, and you cannot control the actions of others. Make sure you read our combat rules for more information.
- Post-order is important. Make sure you allow the other person to respond before you post again.
- Ensure you tag all posts appropriately, with OPEN or CLOSED, and ensure you indicate the characters, if any, the thread is directed at.
- Be mindful of the aforementioned tags. You can jump in at any time in an open thread, but exercise respect and common sense when doing so. If a thread is coming to a close, it's probably best to stay out without permission. If you jump into a closed thread, your post will be voided, removed, and warning points issued.
- While there is no minimum/maximum word limit on Exodus, we expect a certain level of quality and literacy in your writing. You should aim to achieve 200 words in every post. If you are unable to do this for whatever reason, that's fine, but you should be at least making an active effort to hit this number with each post. We won't punish you for doing 150 words, if your entire thread has been 400 word posts, obviously. In addition to this, posts surpassing 1,000 words are fine, but shouldn't be overdone. They can be taxing for some players.
- You may use post templates, however we will not insert/code plugins just so you can use certain ones. It is by no means an expectation or requirement.
- Characters should have individual accounts and be assigned a member group before you post in IC threads.
- Face claims are not essential, but strongly recommended. They should be drawn art, but never stolen art.
- We do not have a character limit, but you should keep them all active. If you wish to put a character on hiatus, please inform an admin so we can keep it on record.
- All NSFW content should be toned down and fade-to-black. Be reasonable. NSFW content should also be clearly tagged where reasonable/possible - torture/graphic violence threads should contain a warning in the title, and singular posts should be prefaced with the warning in clear text, distinguished from the rest of the body.
