During the course of combat, a Super will inevitably face various injuries, though most of these are able to be healed rather quickly, or shrugged off without immediate medical attention being necessary. However, despite the fact that Permanent Kills will never occur without a player's choosing, there are times at which a Staff Member may see it necessary to step in on a fight and declare one party the winner. To encourage people to lose fights willingly, there is no penalty for losing a fight of your own accord; though if combat is prolonged and neither party seems to give in, then a member of staff can issue a Grievous Injury (GI) to the party they believe should have lost. A Grievous Injury is not a serious penalty, and it does not, under any circumstance doom your character, unless you choose to roleplay their death as a result. Put simply, a Grievous Injury is a declaration that you have lost the fight, and that you could not feasibly continue. If and when a Grievous Injury is applied to your character, you are forbidden for engaging in combat for 24 hours, except for any other concurrent threads you are currently participating in. This is the only penalty for losing a fight without specifically choosing to do so, to encourage people to play-to-lose.
